2 Tech Guys?
Posted on November 8th, 2010
In a world with smart-phones, smart-networks, and smart-cars, there will always be tech guys, but are they really needed? Surely it’s not possible that you need one tech guy for each device or application. Has business really gotten this complicated? When did this happen?
No, you can have as many secondary suppliers as you want or need but you really only need one primary provider so long as they understand your business objectives, goals and can be trusted. Quite often we are invited to sit in with innovate experts on discussions relating to the future of the “tech world” and we see a shift in the pattern.
Today we were asked to help out a company with a networking issue that BT (British Telecom) was unable or unwilling to solve. They had their experts at the scene, on the phone and under the ground but it was evident that the problem wasn’t going to be resolved and the company was informed of this. The companies own tech guys said “hay, we can’t really help if BT can’t, we can’t”. There was no technology barrier causing this issue it was simply down to poor communications.
All companies require problems to be identified with SOLUTIONS. We communicated the problem and the solution correctly on behalf of the client whom primary concern isn’t who fixes the issue as long as the issue is resolved. This was only resolved because we identified the problem and understanding technology was able to communicate what the client or their tech guys couldn’t and hey presto.
